How to blur your house in Google Street View on Mac or PC
- Open any browser on your Mac or PC. I am using google chrome.
- head to Google Maps.
- Enter your home address in the search box.
- Select and drag the yellow person icon to the street next to your house.
- Click Report a problem in the lower right corner.
Alternatively, you can tap the three dots icon → choose Report a Problem.
- Set up your house so that it is inside the rectangular red square.
- Under Blur Request, select My Home.
Enter additional information in the gray box below. - Enter the other required information and complete the reCAPTCHA check.
- Click ‘Submit’.
You will be redirected to the Thank You page and you will also receive an email at the registered email address.
NB: Google has not provided a procedure to check the status of your camouflage request.
How to search and determine if your house is already not visible in Google Maps
It is a good idea to double check whether or not you have blurred your residence.
- Go to the Google Maps Street View page.
- Find your address.
- Click on your home photo on the left under the “Photos” section.
- Compare the picture of your house with the pictures of neighboring homes.
It’s really blurry if you see a fake, distorted, or pixelated image of your home.
