One way to turn some Apple Watch options on and off is through Control Center.

This is a menu that can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the watch face. This menu contains some hidden icons like water drop.

Select the buttons in the Apple Watch Control Center

The steps in this article were performed on Apple Watch 2 using version 4.2.3 WatchOS. If you don’t see all of these options, you may have a different version of WatchOS.

Step 1: Start by swiping up from the bottom of the watch face to open Control Center.

You should see something like the screen below.

What are the buttons on the Apple Watch when you swipe up?

Moving from left to right from the top icon, these buttons are:

  1. Battery life (90% shown in the image above).
  2. Airplane mode (airplane icon)
  3. Find your iPhone (phone with brackets)
  4. Flashlight
  5. Do not disturb mode (crescent moon symbol)
  6. Stage mode (two masks)
  7. Screen lock (water drop icon)
  8. silent mode (bell)

Now that you know how to find all of these Apple Watch icons and what they mean, you can start using them to customize your watch settings or enable different modes that make your watch better in certain situations.

While many of the Apple Watch icons in Control Center can be turned on and off by tapping the icon, the water drop icon requires something extra.
